WSCF GLOBAL PROGRAMMES
Young people and students from 9 countries in the region, gathered in Mexico City, reaffirm their commitment to continue weaving threads of justice in Latin America, a continent hit by inequalities and the advance of fundamentalism.
The World Student Christian Federation in Latin America and the Caribbean held its XIV Regional Assembly and Thematic Consultation on Democracy, Human Rights and Fundamentalisms between the 25th to 28th of November at the Anglican Seminary of San Andrés in Mexico City.
WSCF-Europe hosted its virtual Regional Assembly on 6-7 November with the delegates coming from the Student Christian Movements (SCMs) in 15 countries in Europe.
A two-day intense programme of the Assembly included reporting of the WSCF-Europe work of the last two years, presenting the 2022-2023 budget, work on the strategic priorities for the next strategic period, reflections and invitations to the WSCF General Assembly in Germany in June 2022 and election of a new leadership team for the 2021-2023 term.
WSCF joins the call to End Violence Against Women Now #EndFemicide

The World Student Christian Federation (WSCF) joins the 16 days of activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign that starts on Thursday, November 25 with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and goes until the International Human Rights Day on December 10.
About the 16 Days of Activism campaign
The campaign was launched by the Center for Women’s Global Leadership (CWGL) at its first Women’s Global Leadership Institute in 1991. For this year 2021 and in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the campaign, the CWGL will focus on AWARENESS, ACTION AND ACCOUNTABILITY with a special emphasis on femicide or the gender-related killing of women (https://16dayscampaign.org).

The World Student Christian Federation as part of the ecumenical coalition for climate justice -a coalition made of delegates and representatives from several different Christian organizations and churches- attended the COP 26 UN Climate Change Conference that took place from 31 October to 12 November 2021 in Glasgow, UK.
WSCF has been involved in Climate Justice advocacy as part of its Ecological Justice Global Program, being active in different ecumenical meetings and global encounters such as the United Nations Framework Convention Climate Conference (COPs) since 2015. Many activities have been done in the COPs framework, many of them related to the ecumenical delegation and inter-faith coordination in order to make our call for Climate and Social Justice stronger.

It is necessary that we shed light on what has become of the humanitarian situation in Lebanon as a result of the economic crisis. The situation portends of great social unrest, beginning with the increase in migration among young men and women, university students and graduates, and the youth’s loss of hope in the future. We are fast moving towards the possibility of a social explosion. Therefore, and out of concern for the students, especially the Christians among them, we find it crucial to come together in solidarity and make calls to action.
Generations in Dialogue
The World Student Christian Federation participated in the “Conference of the World Council of Religious Leaders on Faith and Diplomacy: Generations in Dialogue”, of Religions for Peace International and Ring for Peace with the support of the German Federal Foreign Office, held in Lindau, Germany, from October 4th to 7th, 2021. This Conference aimed to engage different generations in dialogue on the nexus of Diplomacy and Religions with regards to Environmental concerns, Humanitarianism, and Peace and Security.
